Although he did not know much about bees at the time, Rolf Geigle did not want to part with the beehives of his father. In the years since he became a very committed beekeeper and spends a lot of time working with the bees, which he keeps in a traditional way in Hengen close to the former military trainining ground in the centre of the biosphere reserve Swabian Alb. It is important to Rolf Geigle that the bees are not only there to produce honey, but that they are also essential for agriculture because the pollination of plants.

You can visit the nature garden of Lonie Geigle and Rolf Geigle, where the old little house with the beehives is located, on some occasions. Rolf Geigle also has a private museum in Bad Urach Hengen, where he presents his extensive collection of gramophones.
